This relates to my history class when you talk about Socrates, it explains the situation of the greek back in the B.C. People mindset during those times are not fully develop of thinking using word would not be necessary for their daily lives. There for people back then would be illiterate. Although, to those ones that does they would have the people to change or to rebel. Which is a disliking to the higher up, like the church or the loyal blooded families. For example Martin Luther, plato, socrates, and other philosopher and scientists. Meaning people back then dislike changes, so people like Socrates would have been considered as a out-case.
ReplyDeleteThe old history are to be taught, in order to improve upon on, then rather to go backward on. If the new generation didn't learn from the old generation there won't be order nor improvements. For example the amendments.

This is a good point and I am glad you are linking this to your history class! I am not sure tho that we are so much better developed now than they were then — I often wonder if all the things we have that are so good, that we think make us more developed than ancient people, are dragged down by all the weapons we have build and all the damage we do.
DeleteThis is really interesting fact that I should write something about my knowledgeable because it means I do not have to write something based on information, but based upon the truth. Because a lot of people write an essay with non-subject idea, I really like the point that we should think about subject before we started writing. Personally, l love Socrates’s organization in writing because that is what I do usually when I am writing an essay or something. Now I totally understand why Socrates is worried about people who do what is believable or likely because those are not lead into the truth. Most of all, I am impressed by the fact that we need to find our own terms which is lead us to philosophy.

I am not sure I understand the difference between “information” and “truth” in the above statement? Can you clarify?
DeleteSo, what I meant by information is that some sources on the internet or from
Deletenot clarified thing unlike soul, philosophy, and knowledge because I thought information is not same as the truth.
Ah ok! This makes more sense now!
